Cinder Ellie and Ellie and the Prince are a Cinderella story, while The Little Siren and the The Siren and the Scholar are about the Little Mermaid. The Lady and the Wish is one that I've re-read several times--highly recommended, and you can read it even if you haven't read the earlier books in the series.
